What is a delegation?
A “delegation” means a person or group of persons who address Council or a Committee for the purpose of making a presentation. See the City of Stratford Procedure By-law for details.
Delegation Guidelines:
Delegations are limited to ten (10) minutes (not including questions from Council) for their presentation. If speaking to a matter for the second time, then delegations are given five (5) minutes and are limited to presenting only new information.
Groups are encouraged to appoint one or two spokespersons to address Council on behalf of the group.
PLEASE NOTE: This form and any related materials (PowerPoint, audio/visual presentation files and/or other printed materials) MUST be received by the City Clerk no later than Noon on the business day preceding the meeting. At the discretion of the Clerk, the Delegation will be scheduled to make a presentation to a Regular Council, unless it is determined that the request should be directed to the appropriate Sub-committee, Committee, or City department or due to time constraints, to another meeting.
Any presentation materials or printed documentation provided will be placed on the Stratford City Council Agenda and is posted on the corporate website and available to the public. Large submissions will be reviewed by the Clerk and included (or not) at their discretion. Delegations may be requested to provide multiple copies of a large document.
You will be notified by the City Clerk if your request has been approved.
